The phrase "The eyes are the window to the soul" has captured a universal truth about the reality of us as a species. Our eyes communicate far more than we may realise. Just as kindness and joy can shine through, so too can evil and malice emerge from eyes clouded with darkness.
When malevolence takes root in a person’s soul, it doesn't remain hidden. It manifests in subtle yet undeniable ways, most often through the eyes and the metaphorical heart.......the centre of one’s being if you will.
The eyes are expressive, serving as a bridge between our inner world and the outer one. They reveal truths we might wish to conceal. Many of us have had the unsettling experience of meeting someone whose eyes seem "dead" or "cold," evoking an instinctive sense of unease. This phenomenon reflects an inner void... a soul consumed by malevolence, selfishness, or cruelty.
It is like our built in alarm system.
In literature, villains are often described with eyes that gleam with a predatory sharpness or an unnerving hollowness. Shakespeare captured this dynamic in Macbeth, where Lady Macbeth's descent into madness and guilt renders her gaze increasingly troubled and haunted. Similarly, historical accounts often describe infamous figures like Adolf Hitler or Ivan the Terrible as having a piercing and unsettling glare...eyes that betrayed the cruelty and chaos within.
People unconsciously detect emotions and intentions through microexpressions and subtle eye movements. A cold, unfeeling stare can betray a lack of empathy, while darting eyes can indicate dishonesty or anxiety. When evil resides within, the eyes become an outlet for the chaos or cruelty festering in the soul.
I remember when my Dad was ill before his passing. His eyes used to sparkle with joy. When he became unwell, they lost their lustre. They became less expressive. Sad.
How can eyes do that?
I have met people with evil in their hearts and their eyes dart like fireflies all over the place, unable to stay focused.
The metaphorical heart, much like the eyes, is often considered the seat of human emotion and morality. While the eyes reveal, the heart creates. A hardened heart, one consumed by hatred, greed, or vengeance, colours every interaction and decision. As the heart grows darker, its influence spreads, corrupting the individual's thoughts, behaviours, and- ultimately - their very presence.
When evil dwells in the heart, it flows outward, seeping into every aspect of life. A smile becomes insincere, words drip with venom, and actions are calculated for harm. The eyes become co-conspirators...reflecting the deceit, contempt, or rage that the heart harbours.
The ability to recognise the connection between someone’s gaze and their inner nature is a crucial in today's rather insincere and politically divided world. It allows us to discern trustworthiness, protect ourselves, and navigate the storms we are confronting on a daily basis. From MSM, so called sincere politicians and high profile media personalities, the eyes have it every time.
When our eyes meet the mirror, do we see compassion, empathy, and light? Or do we see shadows of resentment, envy, or cruelty? It seems to me that many from the left are unable to look into the mirror with honesty because what they see is an illusion created by their corrupted brainwashed perceptions of reality and they hate what they see. Why else destroy their potential beauty by filling their hearts with hatred of a man they have been conditioned to fear and condemn?
The eyes and the heart are intimately connected, acting as twin paths to the soul’s true nature. When evil takes hold of the heart, it is the eyes that betray the darkness within, warning others of the storm lurking beneath the surface.
But let's get to the crux of the problem today: When people kill for pleasure, particularly within a society or group where such actions are normalised or even celebrated, it opens a new can of worms. While "evil" and "brainwashing" are both plausible explanations, they often overlap and interact in ways that make it difficult to draw a clear line between the two.
When an entire society or group kills for pleasure, it is rarely the result of a single cause. Brainwashing lays the groundwork by distorting reality, eroding empathy, and normalising violence.
However, the willingness to embrace and revel in such acts reflects a deeper moral failing...a descent into evil.
I wonder how many of our many of our politicians, current newly arrived migrants and leftie luvvies can look in the mirror and see a reflection of their own image? Or have they become vampires whose souls have ceased to exist and merely exist to consume, corrupt and devour the innocents and innocence of this place we call home?
Let's be honest, vampires have no reflection. They merely feed on the good to fuel evil. Sounds like Net Zero to me.
From Jewish scripture: He who is compassionate to the evil will end up being evil to the compassionate.
