Yes, let’s be honest. The days when the Italians, Greeks, Poles, Hungarians, Poms and Chinese all packed up and headed downunder or over yonder bear no resemblance to the current influx of migrants.

The 3 phases of population growth can be loosely tied down to the pre World War II, post WW2 and the here and now.

Society has changed and societal expectation has shifted from what ‘they can do for us ‘ to ‘what we can do for them.’

This, my friends, is a very big shift indeed.

Even our aboriginals came from another place. They were settlers. Thousands of years later, more settlers came across the great unknown and across hostile and treacherous waters armed with axes, energy and attitude. Some were convicts, forced to settle in a far off land as a slave to a government wanting to rid itself of the " dross " and provide a free labour force.

Paddy Mayne - The Bravest Man Never Awarded the Victoria Cross

Captain Robert Blair "Paddy" Mayne, an amazing and legendary figure, is a name that might not be instantly recognisable to many, but his remarkable life story is one that deserves to be told. 

Mayne was a man of extraordinary courage, unshakable determination, and unrivaled skill, making him one of the most distinguished and controversial figures in military history.

He was also a bit of a bastard.

Or so some would say. Mayne was remarkably brave, but he was also not far short of being a loose cannon.

I first learned about him watching " Rogue Heroes. "

The History of the Toilet - a very private matter

Here, in Australia, we have many colloquial phrases to announce our need to retire into a PRIVATE space to " do our business. " 

Our toilet habits are something we all share, but we DON’T Share. At least, not in today’s modern times.

I have read that under the new Trump administration, transwomen will not be allowed to use the women's bathroom in the Capitol and House Office Buildings and this has caused a firestorm of outrage from the usual suspects. 

In a press release he issued on Wednesday, Johnson said, “All single-sex facilities in the Capitol and House Office Buildings — such as restrooms, changing rooms, and locker rooms — are reserved for individuals of that biological sex.” In practice, this means that trans women are not able to use women’s bathrooms.

Speaker Johnson noted that each Congress member has a bathroom in their office, and there are also unisex bathrooms available in the Capitol that could theoretically serve as an alternative. “Women deserve women’s only spaces,” he said in a statement.

Some years ago, a young boy was visiting Redhead’s house and he asked to use the “ dunny. “ It struck me as amusing as I would have used the word “ toilet “ or “ bathroom “ or  restroom “  or perhaps even “ go somewhere. “

It seems to me that Trump is Flushed with Commonsense as Transgender Hopes go Down the Toilet.

So it started me on one of my many voyages down rabbit holes to discover the evolution of the toilet and how it has grown from a natural bodily function into a multi million dollar business and a movement ( pun intended ) for social change. And, believe it or not, we never started out as advocates for privacy. That only happened as we grew into a more civilised society......

The Eyes Have It - Windows to the Soul and Mirrors of Inner Darkness

The phrase "The eyes are the window to the soul" has captured a universal truth about the reality of us as a species. Our eyes communicate far more than we may realise. Just as kindness and joy can shine through, so too can evil and malice emerge from eyes clouded with darkness.

When malevolence takes root in a person’s soul, it doesn't remain hidden. It manifests in subtle yet undeniable ways, most often through the eyes and the metaphorical heart.......the centre of one’s being if you will.

The eyes are  expressive, serving as a bridge between our inner world and the outer one. They reveal truths we might wish to conceal. Many of us have had the unsettling experience of meeting someone whose eyes seem "dead" or "cold," evoking an instinctive sense of unease. This phenomenon reflects an inner void... a soul consumed by malevolence, selfishness, or cruelty.

It is like our built in alarm system.

HMAS Sydney 2 - On this day in 1941 She was Lost with All Hands

There are many ships of the Royal Australian Navy that are dear to the hearts of us older Australians. The Scrap Iron Flotilla that ran the gauntlet ferrying men and materials between Tobruk and Egypt, The Canberra, sunk by friendly fire in the Solomons, the Hobart going down against overwhelming odds in Sunda Strait but none compare with the adulation reserved for HMAS Sydney.

Today marks the anniversary of the sinking of HMAS Sydney 2. Lost with all hands following a heroic mutually destructive battle with the German raider HSK Kormoran on the evening of November 19th 1941. R.I.P.

Since 1901 there have been FIVE fighting ships of the RAN bearing the name HMAS Sydney. 

The second HMAS Sydney started life as the cruiser, HMS Phaeton until purchased by the Australian government in 1934 and re-named in memory of her predecessor. She remained in Australian waters until April 1940 when she left as part of an escort screen for a large Middle East bound convoy.

In an age where technology and information dominate every aspect of our lives, the spectre of Cold War-era covert operations like Operation Mockingbird and MKUltra feels unsettlingly relevant. These programmes, designed to manipulate media narratives and experiment with behavioural control, may officially belong to history, but their underlying principles persist in modern forms.

From state-sponsored disinformation campaigns to the psychological manipulation embedded in some social media algorithms, the tactics of influence have evolved into sophisticated tools capable of shaping opinions, behaviours, and even societies on an unprecedented scale. The ramifications of these tactics, and why ethical vigilance is more crucial than ever to safeguard personal autonomy and democratic values is a subject of which we must all be very aware.

Where so-called " influencers ", pop " stars ", MSM, sports " stars " and even some of our politicians use their popularity in what could be perceived as trying to sway public opinion is, well, chilling.  

In the depths of Cold War paranoia, two covert operations ...Operation Mockingbird and MKUltra....symbolised the United States government’s willingness to use unprecedented methods to control narratives and, potentially, the human mind.

A Prescription From the Past - How thing used to be

When remembering the past, and the way things used to be, one date has particular significance … 15th September. On that day in 2002 a man who had a huge influence in my life passed gently to another life. Extremely talented, always cheerful and willing to help his customers, well liked and highly respected Pharmacist Alf Dlugaj had managed a pharmacy in Ayr, and I had the great good fortune to have been his first, and only, apprentice. 

We learn many things in life, from a range of different people and random events, and the course of our life is often changed in a manner completely unexpected, which was demonstrated in spectacular fashion by the way in which the life of our dearly loved Queen Elizabeth moved in new directions from carefree childhood to assuming the onerous duties which she willingly accepted and discharged so well as promised, all her life, whether it be long or short.

It is always interesting to remember how things used to be, but much more hazardous to attempt to anticipate the future.

Australian local government calls for suspension of Covid mRNA vaccines

In a surprise move, the local government of West Australian mining town Port Hedland is calling for immediate suspension of the Moderna and Pfizer Covid vaccines pending an investigation into evidence of excessive levels of synthetic DNA in the shots.

At a special meeting on 11 October, Port Hedland councillors voted five to two in favour of notifying all of Australia’s 537 local councils of the evidence of the DNA contamination in the vaccines, and associated risks.

“We are gravely concerned about the potential health risks posed by synthetic DNA contamination, including the dangers of genomic integration, cancer, hereditary defects and immune system disruption,” said the letter, a copy of which was sent to councillors around the country following the vote. 

Letters were also sent to every health practitioner within the Port Hedland area strongly urging them to share this information with patients contemplating receiving any Pfizer or Moderna Covid modified-RNA (mod-RNA) vaccines.

Leprechauns, Gnomes, and Goblins: Thank God We have Trump Back in Charge

In European folklore, the leprechaun, gnome, and goblin have earned their places as timeless characters, each with distinct personalities, goals, and quirks. But viewed through a modern lens, these mythical beings aren’t just figures of fantasy .... they reflect the different approaches people take within modern society.

Each represents a unique relationship with wealth, work, and power, and together, they illustrate the balancing act that defines a thriving, free-market society.

These characters highlight three different types within any modern free market system: the diligent worker, the idealistic dreamer, and the power-driven opportunist.

When balanced, these traits allow for a society that values hard work, respects freedom, and encourages open discussion to keep ambitions in check.

But when the Goblins try and take over .... that is another matter entirely.

Caveman Council Conundrum: If you are Woke, Going Broke is the Least of your problems.....

It was the annual General Meeting of the The Great Cavern Roundtable (An actual roundtable! Thanks to the invention of the wheel.) The year was 3399. In attendance, the local Cavemen, the Whale from the Coast, and a few disgruntled animals.

After the Great Reset of the early 2020's  when the homogreenmorons destroyed the planet,  many had moved to Mars on the Musk MAGA crafts captained by the legendary High Commander Trumpasaurus and Captain AD Vance.  Mars was now a thriving planet and people ate good food, lived in wondrous things called " houses "  and chatted all day long on a thing called Starlink, devoid of interference. 

Unfortunately, Earth had banned access to the broadcasts and those that remained had gone from tents to cave dwelling and many people had been wiped out by a virus called " Wokeness. " The virus caused functioning brain cells to dissolve into a puddle of swamp slime and procreation was severely limited due to the number of people who didn't know what a woman was so they killed all the babies just in case they were female. 

And so it was that the few remaining living creatures on Earth convened their annual general meeting to work out what should be on the agenda for the next year.
