Each time I watch the latest news on the battle between Peta Credlin and Dan Andrews, I cannot help but think of that great fairytale and musical masterpiece Peter and the Wolf.

Peter and the Wolf is a story about not being afraid, about taming nature and conquering external threats. The dark shadow in the woods beyond the fence perfectly evokes the paranoia of the Stalinist Regime, which wanted Russian citizens to believe that they "live in paradise, but there’s always an external enemy just beyond the fence, for which they must be on guard".

Geez, doesn't that ring a bell in today's modern world of Climate Change, Lockdowns and Socialist fear mongering.....

Peta Credlin has shown us that her Conservative, fact based pursuit of the truth is very much like the young Peter from the fairytale when dealing with the tragedy that is modern life. You can only win if you have some support and you stay firm and committed to your case. But it is only ever going to be a battle in a war that has been waged for thousands of years. Battles can be won but wars are a different story.

Here is a synopsis of the original tale:

Well, Peta Credlin may win this battle and stand triumphant on top of the cage but the Wolf will be let loose and ready to do it all over again.

What is happening in Victoria, New Zealand, Queensland, America, UK, in fact all around the Western World is the story of Peter and the Wolf.

We have all seen the fat cats; the so called " benevolent "  grandfather figures; the loyal duck  and the courageous Peters.

But, like the story says, the Wolf always survives and waits for the next opportunity to strike.

Please enjoy this piece of musical delight and listen to it with an entirely different ear.

If Peter had not caught the Wolf, What then?
